The AE5 series oxygen analysers have been designed to measure the absolute oxygen content of flue gases directly in the flow of analysed flue gases inside the thermal installations.
The absolute content of residual oxygen in gases produced during combustion or chemical processes is one of the most important indicators for combustion control. By determining the residual oxygen content, optimum thermal efficiency can be achieved, and negative environmental impact can be reduced.

The basic measuring element of the instrument is a ZrO2 solid electrolyte sensor located directly in the flow of the flue gas being analysed. The sensor is housed in a ceramic enclosure together with a heating element that heats the sensor to an operating temperature of approximately 700 degrees Celsius. The stainless steel cover provides both protection and support. The latter passes through the wall of the boiler and is connected to it by the mounting flange.
It is completed by a cabinet which houses the control electronics and all the other equipment necessary for the operation of the unit. At the bottom of the housing there is a reference air filter, connectors for power supply, a connector for communication signals and, if required, a calibration gas inlet.
Calibration can be performed without disassembling the analyser. Depending on the analyser version, it is possible to calibrate at two points (air and a calibration gas), and if the analyser is equipped with a calibration gas input, it is possible to calibrate at up to four points (air + 3 calibration gases).
