Online coal quality analyser with quantity measurement and calorific value calculation for fuel quality sorting.

/about the product

Online radiometric coal quality analyser GE4000

Parameter 1
Parameter 2
Parameter 3

The GE4000 allows online monitoring of instantaneous values of the content of non-combustible substances (ash) directly in the coal on the conveyor belt. It can calculate the amount of ash and determine the calorific value. The use of this device improves the efficiency of the mining process and allows the optimisation of fuel consumption, resulting in significant cost savings.

/about the product

The GE4000 series coal quality analysers represent the fourth generation of online radiometric analysers.

It has been developed using our more than 30 years of practical experience and knowledge in the field of non-contact coal quality monitoring, taking into account the needs of our major customers. The GE4000 is a basic self-contained unit capable of providing the maximum information on the quality and quantity of material passing through the technology in real-time.

It uses a reliable method to evaluate the attenuation of gamma rays at two different energies depending on the level of non-combustible material in the coal. In terms of safety, this method complies with all current safety regulations.

The detection stage is located on the support frame installed on the belt conveyor at the measuring point. It contains two radioactive emitters housed in a protective container under the belt conveyor, a radioactive radiation detector and an intelligent computing unit.

The detection stage is designed for maximum safety and reliability. The measuring beam of radioactive radiation is directed only perpendicularly to the conveyor belt, while the free movement of people in the vicinity of the measuring point is not restricted in any way. The control panel, located, for example, at the operator's workstation, ensures easy operation and display of results via a touch screen. Connection points for communication interfaces of further analogue and digital inputs and outputs are provided in the control unit housing.

Multiple display terminals can be connected to the GE4000 controller to transmit output data to multiple workstations as required. Depending on the purpose of each operator workstation, different functions of the ash meter, or even several ash meters, can be operated simultaneously from individual terminals. Measurement and diagnostic data are automatically archived for future reference.

Analyser Functions

Learn more

Continuous evaluation of coal quality in real-time after detection.

Continuous evaluation of calorific value. The value of the water content used to convert the calorific value is entered by the operator or automatically from an external measuring device.

Tracking of the amount of fuel used (t/h conveyor capacity) based on the processing of the mathematical model of the conveyor profile and the measured values of the layer height.

Monitoring the height of the measured layer of the medium passing along the conveyor belt.

Measurement over a set period of time (accumulated value). The ash content is measured from the moment the START input is activated (by pressing the key) until the STOP input is activated (by pressing the key). The measurement of the instantaneous ash content is not limited in any way.

Blocking of measurements when the technology is stopped. No registration in the balances and statistics.

Presetting of calibration dependencies. The instrument can be calibrated to different types of coal. The calibration curve can be changed from the instrument panel or externally.

Auto start-up mode. No external operator intervention is required to restart the measurement after power is restored.

Analogue outputs. The measured values are also available at the output of the analogue converter.
